Liz Bates serves as the Vice President and Operations Manager for Legacy Financial, a family-owned business that has been proudly serving Arlington residents and clients all over the country for over 30 years. In her role, she oversees the full life cycle of mortgage processing, ensuring that every client experiences a smooth, stress-free journey from initial application to closing. She also spearheads client retention programs, implements marketing strategies, and provides leadership that drives growth across the organization. Through Legacy Financial powered by Canopy Mortgage, Liz processes and assists three additional loan officers while helping clients with home financing in all 50 states. Her extensive knowledge of loan programs and dedication to exceptional service allows her to guide clients with confidence, no matter where they are buying a home.
In addition to her mortgage expertise, Liz is a Licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent with Legacy Wealth Advisory, where she helps individuals and families build comprehensive financial strategies tailored to their needs. She also contributes significantly to marketing and website design across all Legacy companies, including Legacy Commercial Capital and Legacy Development Solutions, helping these brands expand their reach, streamline client engagement, and maintain a consistent reputation for excellence. Liz is widely recognized for her ability to build strong relationships, foster trust, and deliver innovative solutions that keep Legacy Financial at the forefront of the industry.
Liz’s dedication to service extends deeply into the community. She proudly serves on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club of Arlington, where she also holds the role of Assistant Sergeant at Arms, sits on the Webb Elementary Committee, and serves as a representative to UTA’s Rotaract Club. She co-created and organizes Dancing with the Arlington Stars, the club’s signature annual fundraiser, which has become one of Arlington’s most impactful charitable events. In just two years, this dazzling event has raised over $550,000 net, with 100% of proceeds benefiting 32 local nonprofits. Through this work, Liz has seen firsthand how strong community support can multiply impact and transform lives. She also volunteers as a buddy with the Miracle League of Arlington, helping children with special needs experience the joy of baseball. A graduate of the Leadership Arlington Class of 2018 (Best Class Ever), Liz continues to live out the principles of servant leadership she gained through the program.
Outside of her professional and community roles, Liz finds fulfillment in her personal passions. She is an avid DIY enthusiast who loves tackling home improvement projects and teaching herself new skills—whether it’s building, painting, or renovating. Creativity plays a big role in her life; she often spends evenings unwinding with art projects, from painting and molding clay flowers to crocheting plastic bag sleeping mats for the homeless. Liz loves spending time with her two dogs, Addie and Oliver, and there’s usually at least one more furry friend in her care from friends or family—because, as she says, “the more, the merrier!” She also treasures time with her niece and two nephews, embracing her role as “Lili” and experiencing the world through their joyful and innocent eyes.
